Seacoast Yoga Mala 2016 Sunday, January 31

Join the Seacoast yoga community for the eighth annual Yoga Mala! This three-hour yoga session is a joyful fundraising event taught by area teachers which includes 108 Sun Salutes, chanting and meditation. Open to all levels of yoga students, this class will uplift you as a celebration of community spirit. We expect 200 yogis to participate!

The goal of raising $60,000 supports SATYA’s yoga outreach programs as well as proven local initiatives which provide food and fuel assistance. Our grassroots fundraising efforts support the following organizations: SATYA (Seacoast Area Teachers of Yoga in Action), Seacoast Eat Local’s SNAP Program, and Strafford, York and Rockingham Counties Community Action Programs.

January 31st, 2016 from 3-5pm at the York Public Library join the Five of the driving forces behind New England’s highly acclaimed “Rock My Soul Gospel Choir” branch off with a sound of rich vocal blends and soul-stirring harmony. Their repertoire explores American music from Delta blues to folk gospel, including slave spirituals, humns, and traditional songs. I know many of you have been patiently waiting to get more details about this year’s Doggie Paddle Plunge so here are the details:

Doggie Paddle Plunge 2016

Saturday, February 27th

Great Island Common Recreation Center

New Castle, NH

11:00 a.m. – Registration and Snacks

Noon – Plunge

12:30 p.m. – Lunch and Awards

Goal: $20,000

We’d love to have your help reaching this goal as a Plunger! We have a great new long sleeve Plunge shirt if you raise $150 or more, and a nice quarter zip pull over as the prize for raising $500 or more. There will also be the usual ‘Best Costume’ prize and the highly coveted ‘Top Fundraiser’ prize, won by our very own Jen Frey last year!

York Maine Winter Farmer’s Market Dates

York Winter Farmer’s Market is back!
Jan 9 & 23, Feb 6 & 20, March 5 & 19, April 2. The market runs from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. With 20-25 vendors each Satruday, the event is much like our summer markets and the event is alway free to attend. Located at the Fellowship Hall of the First Parish Church, 1890 York Street, York Maine, visiting the market is an enjoyable, and community oriented event.

The goal of this market is to support our local farmers, food-producers, artists and artisans, while offering a one-stop enjoyable shopping experience for customers looking to buy their produce, et al, locally.
